Meet the faces that tell our TAYO stories.
Kelly De Leon is a coordinator and segment producer at TFC for the news program Balitang America and lifestyle magazine show Adobo Nation. Kelly has reported a number of stories that highlight the Fil-Am community in the San Francisco Bay Area. A graduate of San Francisco State University, she holds a degree in Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts, and a minor in Journalism.
Trace Gaynor is a musician & content creator based in Los Angeles. Born and raised in Elmhurst, IL, Trace moved to Los Angeles in 2010 to attend the University of Southern California, graduating with degrees in Broadcast & Digital Journalism, Marketing, & Cinematic Arts. While at USC, he began pursuing his hobby of singing with the a cappella group, Troy Tones. He later co-founded the Filipino American vocal group, The Filharmonic. When he’s not singing, he manages Filharmonic’s social media, produces music videos, and hosts digital segments for various media outlets.
Born and bred in the Golden State, Nikka Magahis is proud to call California her home. She graduated cum laude from the University of California, Davis with a BA in Communications, Pre-Dentistry and a minor in Spanish. Nikka grew up in a musical family. When she’s not working, you would probably find her singing, dancing or playing the piano. On the weekends, she is a Sunday school teacher at her church. Nikka loves to bake and travel. Interestingly enough, traveling is what inspired her to pursue a career in radio and television. It is what made her realize that each person in every place has a story that has to be told.
Nino Llanera is a TV host, entertainment journalist, producer and actor born in Iloilo City, Philippines and raised in Los Angeles, California. He is best known for his work with Afterbuzz TV founded by Emmy Award Winner Maria Menounos (E! Entertainment) and Producer Keven Undergo (The Tomorrow Show). Nino can be seen on Afterbuzz, hosting after shows for networks such as MTV, CW, FOX, and Netflix. Nino is a co-founder of the Hip-Hop Fashion and Lifestyle website. A proud alumnus of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communications at Arizona State University, he aspires to continue to create noteworthy content for TV, film and for the digital world.
Austin Castro is a host, producer, actor, and YouTuber from Modesto, CA. He is currently attending San Francisco State University as a Broadcast and Electronic Communication Arts major with an emphasis in Broadcast Journalism. In 2013, he began producing a variety of travel vlogs on his YouTube channel and has created over 450 videos since then. In 2016, he joined TFC’s Adobo Nation as a correspondent, producing segments that highlight events and figures in the Fil-Am community. Additionally, Austin has also been a contestant on the CBS game show “The Price is Right” and can be seen in the Netflix show “13 Reasons Why.”
